Robert Davis joined the 102nd Field Artillery Massachusetts National Guard on December 2, 1940 On August 7, 1944 he sailed to Europe arriving in Normandy September 7, 1944.
He fought in battles and campaigns in France, Rhineland, Ardene and Central Europe He also served in Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany , Austria and Czechosolvakia.
In February 1945 he was wounded in action in Fraulautern, Germany and received the Purple Heart, returning back home September 1945
He was Honorably Discharged October 7, 1945 from Fort Devens, Massachusetts.
