THE ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP DINNER DANCE WHICH WAS HELD May 4th, 2019 LAST YEAR WAS A HUGH SUCCESS!!!! WELL OVER 180 PEOPLE CAME AS THE COMBINED BEVERLY VIETNAM VETERANS AND VFW AWARDED 5 SCHOLARSHIPS FOR A TOTAL OF OVER 10 THOUSAND DOLLARS TO DESERVING LOCAL STUDENTS AS THEY CONTINUE THERE EDUCATION.
THIS YEAR WE HAVE 150 TICKETS SOLD FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP DINNER DANCE. THIS YEARS WE WILL BE GIVING 3 SCHOLARSHIP TO NORTH SHORE COMMUNITY COLLEGE VETERANS AND 1 SCHOLARSHIP TO A BEVERLY HIGH SCHOOL ROTC STUDENT. WE WILL ALSO BE HONORING LYNN PELLINO, KRISTEEN BABCOCK AND KEVIN HAUTURIAN. WE WILL ALSO PRESENT A CERTIFICATE TO CHELSEA SAMS, SARA ELDGRIDGE AND DENISE DECAMPS FOR ALL THERE WORK ON THE NEW BEVERLY VIETNAM VETERANS MEMORIAL AT ELLIS SQUARE
Criteria:
This $2,000.00 scholarship may be awarded to any individual who has been accepted to attend an accredited college or university for the coming Fall Semester. The successful candidate must be attending the local school system, active member of the ROTC program or a relative of a current (or deceased) member in good standing of Beverly Viet Nam Veterans, Post #1.
Candidates should have:
*Good scholastic credentials
*Be well rounded (participate in extra curricular activities such as sports, clubs, community service or work related expierneces etc.); and
Not be in possession of a full-tuition scholarship from their chosen college or university.
Process:
The completed application should be sent to the address below and must be received by March 15, annually.
